As principal investigators, the Southeast Texas Clinical Research Center (SETCRC) has locally conducted over 100 clinical trials over the past 20 years. These trials have evaluated both medical treatments as well as devices to improve cardiovascular health. The Cardiovascular Foundation of Southeast Texas works closely with the SETCRC in the design and execution of original clinical trials of drugs and devices to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders.
Mission Statement
To improve cardiovascular health through clinical research, education and patient support. CFST carries out it’s mission by pursuing three basic goals:
Research
The CFST designs and performs local clinical trials of diagnostic modalities, drugs and devices. The SETCRC supports the design and performance of clinical trials to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders. The CFST is currently funding the design and development of two medical research and software projects. Additionally, the Foundation supports scholarships in healthcare and provides support to indigent patients of Southeast Texas.
Education
The CFST develops, promotes, and sponsors educational activities for healthcare providers in southeast Texas. The Foundation also provides educational grants and scholarship funds for health science students in our area.
Patient Support
The CFST provides funding for health care for indigent patients in Southeast Texas. These funds assist with diagnostics, treatment procedures and medications.
History
Our foundation was inspired by what we currently have, The Southeast Texas Clinical Research Center (SETCRC), which has conducted over 100 clinical trials as principal investigators for the past 20 years. These trials have evaluated both medical treatments as well as devices to improve cardiovascular health. The Cardiovascular Foundation of Southeast Texas will work closely with the SETCRC in the design and performance of original clinical trials of drugs and devices to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders.
